Fundraising Event Success

A superb day was enjoyed on the Severn Valley Railway yesterday (Saturday 12th April) as The Fifty Fundraiser was well supported.

Bumper mileage behind 50049 Defiance was up for grabs, with four round trips to Hampton Loade and one round trip to Bewdley.

The fundraising event was planned by two of our volunteers,Jack Summerfield and Ted Dunster to raise funds for the Severn Valley Railway.

After a devastating landslide closed the railway line between Hampton Loade and Bridgnorth in January.

Fine weather was a bonus as Defiance entertained the passengers and lineside admirers.

A raffle was held onboard with a variety of prizes on offer, including a cab ride in 50049 on the day.
