HRA Awards 2024
It was certainly a night to remember in Brighton on the 10th February for The Class 50 Alliance.
We were truly honoured to be presented with the Rail Express Magazine Modern Traction Award by the editor Richard Clinnick on the night.
In his speech, Richard paid tribute to the remarkable achievement of operating 100 mainline rail tours, by a totally volunteer run organisation.
Class 50 Alliance chairman, Tony Middleton alongside Joe Burr, Fifty Fund Chairman & Jonathan Dunster, paid a personal tribute to the dedication of all our volunteers over the years that has ensured our continuing success and accolades such as this wonderful award.
Tony extended his thanks to Rail Express Magazine.
We were runners up in the category of Team of the Year.
Tony added “We are honoured to be recognised with this nomination and wish to thank the Heritage Railway Association.
Previous Awards
We were nominated in 2020 for a Heritage Railway Association Award for the restoration of 50033 Glorious.
In 2021 we were delighted to be awarded the Diesel Locomotion award by the Heritage Railway Association.
However due to Covid restrictions it was a virtual awards, with our award finally presented to us in person by Lord Faulkner, President of the Heritage Railway Association at the Severn Valley Railway in October 2021.
