Hercules & Defiance are now in the care of Arlington Fleet services in Eastleigh for their transformation into the classic blue large logo livery.
Travelling by rail today, the locomotives arrived just after 15:00hrs and immediately 50007 was shunted into the paint shop.
The work is expected to take 6 weeks to complete and further updates will be given and on relaunch.
5 years have passed by with 50007 and 50049 back where the GBRf livery era began; Eastleigh Works. Both 50007 and 50049 have been going under various stages of preparation and metalwork repair of these past few weeks, in readiness for their repaints in to BR large logo.
We think it’s fair to say that both locos have looked tremendous in this GBRf livery travelling the length and breadth of the country, creating many memories amongst us all.
Many thanks to GBRf for agreeing for our locos to carry their corporate livery and image. It’s certainly been another successful chapter in both the Class 50 history books, and with our ongoing working relationship with GBRf.
Here’s to starting yet another chapter in our story…
Many thanks to our working partners, shareholders, supporters, followers and our volunteers for all of your ongoing support.
